Course Description

 

This course assists clinical teachers in the practice of clinical teaching.  It assumes that clinical teachers will bring to their task background knowledge of educational principles, experience in the clinical field, and knowledge of substantive nursing content, challenges and wonders of learning in the clinical setting.

 

 

 

Objectives:

  1. Describe clinical teaching and the environment in which it is practiced
  2. Outline the role of the clinical teacher
  3. Discuss foundations of clinical teaching and learning
  4. Describe the clinical learning cycle
  5. Outline the instructional strategies used in clinical teaching
  6. Discuss challenges facing clinical teacher today
