The course BZ002 introduces students to biological molecules. The classes of molecules studied in this course include water, carbohydrates, lipids, proteins and nucleic acids. Carbon will also be discussed since most biological molecules are composed of it. The course is a foundation for higher level courses, such as Biochemistry, to be done later on in the Diploma in Science Education programme.
