The primary focus of the course will be on the application of ecological theory and principles to conservation and management of aquatic ecosystems, especially freshwater ecosystems. Emphasis will also be placed on helping students develop the ability to critically evaluate scientific issues and information. The course is aimed at providing students with a broad-based foundation in current issues in aquatic ecology.
