Sociological Foundations of Education- HBScED (Block-release)

This course is an introduction to the major theories of sociology as they are applied to the complex social organisation of schooling. It analyses the institution of education and its functional relationship to the other institutions in society such as the economy, family and politics. Key theorists and research in sociology of education shall be studied in order to assist educationists to better understand and respond to various educational issues.
